A unique and renowned museum experience - modeled after a Venetian palazzo, this historic building houses the remarkable art collection of its eccentric founder, and features significant examples of paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and decorative arts. A pre-pandemic staple of the couple- walking from Ranjani’s apartment along the Emerald Necklace for the museum’s First Thursday events.

Art meets engineering and science at this one-of-a-kind experiential museum brimming with kinetic sculpture and thought provoking exhibits. Reopening in Kendall Square after years of closure... the original location was another favorite of the couple!

Harvard’s internationally-aclaimed museum containing The Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models- a must-see, bucket-list collection of impossibly delicate glass flowers and botanical cross-sections. Also find a room of world-class gems and minerals, an extensive taxedermy collection of many now-extinct animals, and anthropological materials from across the globe with a focus on native peoples of the Americas.

Dating from 1634, the Boston Common is the oldest city park in the United States has evolved from a common ground for grazing, militia formations, and public hangings to a lively green space featuring food trucks, the Frog Pond, ballfields, and more. The Boston Public Garden, located across the street, was established in 1837 and constructed in the style of an English landscape garden, reflecting the aesthetics of the Romantic and Victorian eras. A must-see if it’s your first time in Boston!

3 mile-long greenspace along the Charles River, extending from the Boston Museum of Science to the BU Bridge. Home to excellent views as well as the iconic Hatch Memorial Shell (home of the Boston Pops), historical monuments, recreational facilities, and over 5 miles of paths for walking, running, or biking.

Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Emerald Necklace connects 1,100 acres of walkable, runnable, or bikeable parkland extending throughout Boston, from the Back Bay to Dorchester.

This neighborhood is a maze of narrow streets containing some of the city’s oldest buildings. Now the site of many wonderful (and sometimes cash-only!) Italian shops and eateries, the North End was also the heart of revolutionary Boston.

2.5 mile-long walking path through Boston passing by 16 locations significant in the American Revolution and early US history. It starts in the Boston Common and, marked in red brick, winds through the North End and ends in Charlestown

Located in the Charlestown Navy Yard, the USS Constitution a.k.a. Old Ironsides is a three-masted wooden-hulled heavy frigate of the US Navy. Launched in 1797, she is famous for her service in the Battle of 1812 and is the oldest ship in the world still afloat. Her original sails were manufactured at Riverworks, the venue for our Sangeet!

Built in 1713, this historic building was first, the site of the Massachusetts colonial government and then, after the Declaration of Independence was read for the first time from its balcony in July 1776, of its state government. The Boston Massacre, which ignited evolutionary tensions throughout the Thirteen Colonies, occurred just outside on Devonshire Street in 1770.

Founded in 1807, the Boston Athenæum is one of the oldest independent libraries in the United States, housing a rare books collection of over 100,000 volumes and an art collection of over 100,000 pieces, including such treasures as a first edition copy of Audubon’s The Birds of America, and much of George Washington’s original Mount Vernon library.

Old North Church – Built in 1723, Boston’s oldest surviving church was the site of the famous “One if by land, two if by sea” signal, referring to lanterns held in its windows for Paul Revere on his midnight ride

A local institution featuring delicious baked goods, breads, sandwiches, and hot drinks. The pecan sticky bun is famous, but we’d also recommend the scones, hand pies, and blondies (along with pretty much everything else on the menu)
